Doug Whitworth and Linh Tang awoke several times this week to find that their daughter Aivy had transformed into a giant cockroach (see http://transmogrifier.org/ch-img/ch871108.gif) . A screaming, crying, vomiting-out-of-spite cockroach. It was a rough way to spend a second week of vacation/paternity leave.
How can that happen, you may ask? How can such a wonderfully pleasant and sweet child undergo a metamorphosis into such a terror?
She had help from her little brother.
That's right, they are now conspiring to dash their parents' sanity by crying simultaneously or doing any number of things to compete for their parents' attention.
But we're surviving and have been enjoying visits from lots of friends and family members this past week. It hasn't really been that bad, but two kids are definitely more challenging than just one.
Most of the time, they are still hopelessly cute little bugs, but don't be too deceived by their charming appearances. They can be cruel vermin.
