I looked at this picture and had a horribly Rip Van Winkle-type moment-- had I been asleep for sixteen years and missed it as Aivy became a teenager while I snoozed? Criminy. She looks like she could be running around with Soda Pop and Pony Boy from The Outsiders. I wanted to cry.
Luckily, Calvin still looks like a baby. And he still looks like Sluggo from Nancy.
Linh is looking great, though. I probably shouldn't say this on Mother's Day, but I think Mommy's looking pretty hot.Aivy, on the other hand, is still a goofball. Here she is dancing with the kids on this Vietnamese children's video.

Akello is another one of Aivy's boyfriends. He's her kind, smart, and creative American boyfriend. He gets the nod of approval.
I just hope that Aivy's boyfriends don't think the same of her as I do about her mom.Here she is with her international boyfriend Lorenzo.
They really liked the laundry basket sled. I'm surprised they were comfortable riding together. Maybe they thought it romantic, but I hope not.Okay, well, at least Lorenzo is working hard for her affection. I can respect hard work. Lorenzo gets dad's nod of approval, too.
But the best partners for Aivy are right here-- her family! Linh's mom and her oldest sister came down to Austin, so these are three mothers getting ready for a pre-Mother's Day dinner. It turned out great.
