Superchunk Goes Fishing, Cal-Cal Drives a Car

Da da da-DA! It's the never-ending misadventures of Superchunk!

...and her trusty sidekick, Cal-Cal.

"Quick, Cal-Cal! Bring around the Boobaru!"

"You got it, boss!"

Cal-Cal can drive 4 or 2 wheeled getaway vehicles.

His superpower is cuteness that can melt glaciers.

Here he is in front of what was once an ice sculpture.

Here's the dynamic duo in front of the McNey Museum in San Antonio.

We went down to San Antonio to celebrate their A Pho's safe return after two months in Vietnam visiting relatives during Tet.

We had a really great time.

Can you even guess what kind of trouble is about to unfold?

There's the fish.

And there's Aivy and A Cung.

And there's the pile of food/bait/ammunition.

There's definitely going to be trouble.

Her A Cung is going to make every subsequent fishing trip seem lame by comparison.

Aivy learned how to catch fish with her bare hands.

She learned how to put the stunned minnows in a leaf to play with them up close.

She was clearly having a ball.

Here she is getting up close and personal with the fish.

When you can't throw catch koi by throwing kumquats at them, you have to go with plan B.

She nearly caught one.

I'm just worried about the next time we end up going fishing in Corpus.

Won't she find fishing poles rather like cheating?

We need to start coordinating better...we were in S.A. too!
